Having a Sh!t day...

Seem to be my day for it...

Really P*ssed off.

This morning my wipers start acting up. it was raining hard so I switched the wipers on to pos 1 they worked for about 20 seconds then stopped right across the screen no other position worked just dead. They started working again if I turned the ignition key to position zero (i.e. steering lock key out) but only for approx 20 secs. I did some testing at the side of the road and the intermittent sensor wipe would go constantly even if it wasn't raining that hard. Also one the wipers were on I couldn't switch them off until they failed. I'd noticed a few times recently that the wipers didn't always return to the correct home (resting) position, sometimes sitting a few inches above normal.

It gets worst from here....

So I go to work and had a bad day, I left about 19:30 and noticed the OSR tyre was flat, puncture just what I need, hurrah for run flats as the local garage isn't far. So I drive off and forgetting the wiper issue from the morning switch them on, strange thing is they worked OK?? Anyway I get to the garage and pump up the tyre to get me home. Once the tyre was up I felt around it to see if I could find the entry point, oh yes I found it OK a 1/2" bolt head (the type Frankenstein would be proud of) sticking out of the tyre smack band in the middle. I took it steady on the way home so as not to heat it up too much. Anyone know if I can get a RFT repaired? Cheapest new I can find is £180.

It gets worst from here....

So I get home and check the tyre for the size, etc and find I have something mixed up. Here's how the previous owner had the tyres (must admit I never checked :headbang: )

Front Rear
NSF: 225/40/18 NSR: 255/40/18
OSF: 255/35/18 OSR: 225/35/18

Hmmm......

It gets worst from here....

So p*ssed off and skint I open the door to my house and find a speeding fine (NIP) on the door mat 39MPH in a 30 zone, perfect end to a perfect day.

If anyone has any comments or advice I'd love to hear.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Cheers

Thanks guys, skipped the beer and went straight on to the whiskey!
Feeling a bit better, hell it's only money right.....

Not a good day then

Best check those rim widths too and ensure you have the right rims on the correct corners. Some tyres are directional too so lots of choices :)

If it makes you feel any better, I went into my garage last night to find my golfbag cart thing had fell off the wall and put a nice dent in the boot of the Z4!! :x

Looks like a filler and respray job - Not HP!!

Anyone know a decent bodyshop in Cheshire?

Hey Wippers, Ouch, I never did like golf and now the bags are attacking cars, what's the world coming to?

Thought I give you guys an update;

Wipers are still playing up, tend to stop working when it rains but not all the time. Think it might be the rain sensor playing up.

Tyre cost £178 and the guys swapped the wheels to the right places, plus I've been paid now so that money just gets erased from my memory and I start spending next load.

The Speeding Fine, I got off lightly. Had a letter from the Met Police today I can either 1. pay £60 and have 3 points or 2. pay £95 go on a 'Speed Awareness Workshop' and get NO points! Option 2 please, all day long :D . Still there are conditions, you can't do this if you have been on the workshop in the last 3 years or are about to go on one, it's 2 hrs 30 mins long and you have to book it and turn up on that day or else it's 3 point. The police will also store my responses and use it to determine general driver behaviour. I'm cool with all that.

Well the sun is shining, the Z is freshly washed and polished and the roads are open, I'm off to have some fun. :driving:

See ya all laterz
