Have you seen anyone driving new Z4 since launch?

Seen my first one on the road a few weeks ago, darker grey that didn't look good on that car. White one at a dealership looked better, but not impressed overall.
I can't think mine looks old at all. Almost every week-end when I take it out for a drive, I see someone taking it's picture with his cell phone, while I'm sitting at a terrace or other at close range. Comments and questions also regularly arise while I'm standing at trafic lights.
There's no doubt that our design will stand out for many years still, unlike the new one IMO.

Damn - my buddy collects his at 4pm but at the weather is so good he's off to the Cotswalds for 2 days in it. So shan't see him until Thursday to test it.

He's still working out if he can get a clean T shirt as well as a toothbrush in, as he wants to keep the roof down. May well have to leave his wife at home and put the travel bag in the passenger footwell....

I only saw 3 zeds since launch, here in Italy.
1 my car
2 23i black with 19" alloys and pure white interior
3 xxi white with red interior and 17" alloys....

Its your opinion. Mine is it became dated as soon as new Z4 was showed. When I saw new one at my dealer and then old one outside my dealer, I couldn't believe how suddently old Z4 looked simple and dated. Before that I liked it. Even now I still like it, but when I saw new one and then immediately old one, E85 just looked bland, simple and old. It was roadster, but Coupe looks better and more fresh than roadster IMO

I finally saw the first one on the road this afternoon. It was a Deep Sea Blue with Day driving lights on and roof down. It looked very nice. :) I bought my Z4 4 months ago and still have 8 months warranty left, so it will be stupid to change it now. I have to wait until early next year until used car warranty expires.

They mention on BMWBLOG.com that the sales of the new Z4 are exceptional. :? Exceptionally low or high? :idunno:

Well my buddy turned up in his 1 day old Z4 this morning, before a 2 day run out in it.

Have to say I loved it. Once out of the showroom and on my drive I wanted it. Red is not normally my first choice of colour, but this combined with the cream interior and silver trim worked well.
Just a couple of photos. Roof came down and I forgot to snap any more shots :headbang:
Found a new problem - the window glass projects backwards about 4" beyond the door and makes it way too eay to walk into. Stabbed chests all round.

Couple of taster shots:

Yes, looking good. The colour does not do it for me, but other then that a very nice car.

Hope they announce the M before the warranty on mine expires :D

Did you drive his new Z4? Are the standard 17" wheels bit small for new Z4 in the flesh? Is it a 23i or 30i? What options does the car have?

Will drive it later when we get the time. 17" rims and they are stock. I would prefer larger, but they are good looking in the flesh. No idea on the options, but think it is a near stock and it's a 2.3i

surely you mean sDrive23i.... with a 2.5 litre engine

damn naming conventions!

I've seen two on the roads so far; an unidentified-engined one in grey that looked pretty weird, and a 35i in midnight blue that looked very tasty. Probably because the grey one went past me (profile and back view) and the blue was behind (front view)!

We will wait for your full review on 23i. :)

Just had one in Sainsbury's carpark yesterday evening pass me as I was getting out of the Z4M, actually looked pretty good in White!

Not as big as I was expecting, but maybe the colour helps ....

I've seen three on the road (actually more than I saw of M coupes in the 2.5 years I had one!) A black one, a white one and a dark blue. All looked very nice, especially the blue - and thats from someone who is not a fan
