Have you raced anyone and if so, what was the outcome

Right. Now I'm definitely gunna get flamed, but speeding is a crime my friend and cops are there to detect crime. We have the safest roads in Europe largely thanks to those devious boys in blue trying to justify their existence....
No problem from me. If I'd been willing to race, then I would've taken the bait and got caught. I've also experienced the same tactics by the BIB up in Yorkshire, but I don't bite with anyone. It's only later up the road when you discover its the Police trying to encourage motorists to speed so that they can get a victim. In my book that's just not on and is entrapment. :x

Am I correct to assume you are a BIB ?

I'll not flame you. But speeding is a traffic regulation violation. And is not a crime. If it was. You would have to be arrested and have a trial as opposed to simply getting a ticket. It's the same here in Germany and the US as well.

Nope not a BIB. In fact I have what u might call a "colourful" driving history! Just been involved in a few things recently that have given me some perspective or maybe just getting old.

Not sure tbh. Think it ranks as an offence in the uk, hence ranks as criminal (as opposed to civil) albeit not arrestable or imprisonable. Your probably right tho!

Oh and u can elect to have a trial. Most if us just accept the fixed penalty way if dealing with it.

I'll agree with you on that one exdos. If I violate a traffic regulation and get caught. Well then fine. My bad. But to have a rozzer try and induce you to race then bust you. That's just wrong. My niece and nephew who are both police officers in the USA call that sort of tactic BS. And is in fact illegal.
I've wondered what had happened to the Stazi whom lost their jobs when east Germany folded. Seems they found new employment with HRM's police services. That also accounts for the intense video monitoring of every movement that a British subject makes.

Ahhh! You mean you've recently been caught speeding and just come back from one of those driver awareness training courses and you're now a disciple. :poke:

You can request a hearing before a judge in the US if one wishes to contest the ticket. But it is a civil violation not a criminal one. At least in the US and Germany.

Nice porker tho...

Thanks man

I would not mind having a little play now and again, but am always with the Mrs and she’s 7 months pregnant... so "playing is strictly forbidden :telloff: if over 3000 rpm " when baby paza is on board as such!

Never really 'raced' anyone.
I was in Newport (sadly) a few weeks back, took my dad out for a spin as it was his first time seeing the car, and he needed to buy a power connector for his new water feature! :D

On my way back through Newport from Cardiff I noticed some little chav in a Fiesta van behaving like a pancake maker some way behind me in traffic on the dual carriageway. I carried on driving and chatting to dad. Anyway, next thing I know he's next to me at the lights, the baseball-capped driver looking out of his window at my Zed and being quite animated.

Knowing the lights were due to go green, I hit the Sport button and gave it the beans up to the allocated speed limit ... suffice to say he'd barely started even moving :D

The traffic was typical Sunday fare, and at every roundabout he'd catch me up (as I refused to start switching lanes and undertaking, etc.). He eventually undertook me whilst slowing for a roundabout and disappeared off into Ringland (surprise surprise).

Had there been no traffic, he wouldn't have seen me after the first set of lights ;)
