I was having a shot of my mates GT3 a couple of weeks ago and we heard this terrible racket like an un silenced rally car screaming up behind us. Looked in the mirror and spotted a little Clio sport or whatever they are called cutting through the traffic to get to us. I think he just wanted to see what the GT3 could do so I let him get up beside us. I dropped a cog, floored it, car squatted, chirped it's rubber and head butted the horizon. Even as a tiny dot in the rear view mirror I could see his mouth gaping open.
Had a few people try it on when I had my Z. I got surprised by quite a few hatches but it was usually down to me being too late to realise I was in a race or my inability or lack of stupidity/bravery as a driver.

Only once really seriously - modded Celica GT, no idea whether it had anything done under the bonnet. He pulled out from behind me into the lane beside me having stopped. So side by side at lights, floored it gently to see what he'd do... he booted it, I did the same, took him within 25 yards, got well ahead going up a road between buildings on each side, noise was glorious... Then a car pulled out a side road from the right up ahead straight over his lane into mine... Discovered the brakes are very good indeed 8)
I spend a lot of time simply not paying attention to other drivers who might want to have a go to be honest - especially right now as it is too wet and slippery to be fcking about. That wee drag race was exhilarating though :evil:

My view,
Lets face it, we drive BMW's, and even more we drive BMW sportscars, most people who dont understand that kind of joy already think we are Cocks, the last thing I ever want to do is take off from a set of lights like a bat out of hell and prove them all right. :wink:

Ford Fiesta at Traffic lights. I put the car in to sports mode and let it make its rather angry sound before flying off. White van up my ass, pulled in and let him get by the side of me before I waved and said good bye. VW passatt, brand new, flashed me so may times. Came up the inside lane struggling and then I waved and wished him a pleasant journey.

Last week early morning 5:45 am going to work peeing down 12 plate silver M5 in front, i`m getting soaked so sport button, down 2 floored it just as i passed him and get in front i get a quick 2sec burst of the blue lights, ooh ek i thought definate ticket here but no, i go straight on at the next junction he goe`s left, phew close one, i think he didn`t want to get out of the car in the rain. 
I dont mind having a play now and again, however what stopped me a few years back is I watched one of those police camera episodes and there was a guy in a z4 3.0 and another guy in a new vauxhall astra or something or other... I forget what, anyway the 2 of them were having a play and racing each other down back roads spur of the moment thing.. I wouldnt say in a built up area, more country side I think, the astra lost control left the road went airborne and landed on someones house roof! I believe the house was situated below the road a fair bit... The police investigated the accident had witnesses to say the car was racing a black bmw sports car, they looked through footage of near by security cameras along the road at junctions etc and got half the plate, they then did a search and found a guy with a black z4 in the near-by area. He denied being involved initially, however they eventually found out that he was the one who had called the albulance etc after leaving the scene of the accident, he ended up getting banned for 3 years ! Crazy...
I guess the moral of that story is, its not yourself you have to worry about when having a bit of a play its the idiot your racing as if he makes a mistake your both in the s**t together!

My car isnt the fastest, nor is it the slowest... I dont have anything to prove.
An Asian lad looked late teens early 20's in a 911 ( 12 plate ). 911 Pulled up on the outside 2 lads shouting through closed windows lotsof abuse in my direction and floored it as the lights changed. No contest so I didn't try. This idiot bust have been doing well over 100 in not many seconds and carried on into the distance on a 50mph carrageway abit straight, but with hidden side roads.
