There are some seriously talented car people on here, unfortunately I'm not one of them

After seeing this thread http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=27367 I wondered how many people had done a simple thing such as removing a wheel from the car, not necessarily for cleaning purposes, but for any reason at all.

I expect more yeses than nos on this one :)

you need to add a 3rd option to your poll though, I haven't taken my wheels off personally, but have taken lots of interior parts off, does that count :P

If all you drive are newer cars there is a good possibility that you never touch the car except to drive it....all the rest of that stuff is dealt with at services and under warranty. However, after having a Landcruiser FJ45 for 14 years and a few other " nearly new" 8) vehicles I can honestly say that the only thing I haven't done is taken an engine out (of the vehicle, I did melt an engine in a Chevy Vega in my youth). My dad, the super Jag mechanic refused to touch anything so I was stuck fixing everything myself, he just pointed at stuff and muttered

on modern cars taking a wheel off is about all you can do, anything more and its just far to complicated

Car's been up on the lift with no wheels installed since the beginning of the year.

Wheels should go back on this weekend after getting new tires mounted.

What if u got someone else to remove the wheel for u? Does that count? um da dum? :o

Actually, when I had my wheels taken off ... it was quite a drama ... as the security bolt thingie couldn't be found.

Question for the 90% who have taken a wheel off. The rears are easy to line up & put back on, but without a friend pressing the foot brake how do you simply & easily line up the holes for the front wheel bolts first time every time, coz sometimes i struggle to 'find the holes'...

Anyone got any other trick they wanna share?

Havent had the need to take my wheels off, but wouldn't think twice if I had to. Car has had new tyres since I bought it, so the wheels have been off....
