Don't get me me wrong I know costs associated with fuel have to rise, but it is pretty amazing how many things are getting influenced accross the board. I cannot help but believe this is farther reaching than the times in the 70's. I see alot of people that do not have any float in their monthly budgets really getting squeezed. My wife and I have made some adjustments but the savings have now parlayed into the rise of our utilities, food and fuel. I never intended for this topic to get political or lay blame, I just have been fascinated by the tremendous ripple effect playing into motion.![]()

This is a bit off topic but I will allow a reasonable discussion to continue on this subject so long as everyone can remain civil.
Actually I do, and mainly in the service industries and some blue collar jobs. Yes, they are starting salaries that go up fairly quickly, but the businesses themselves have to absorb the cost of payroll, which is then passed on to the consumer/user. It will not have the widespread effect that gas prices do, but I do foresee a ripple from it.20ducks said:ovrkll said:Don't forget that , IIRC, the minimum wage law goes into effect next month. I go along with all the other effects you mentions, but the minimum wage is one of those 98% political moves, i.e., do you know 6 people that actually make minimum wage? I know of no one that makes minimum wage.
