Just wondering if anyone else chose the high gloss black trim over the Aluminium tetragon

Sars, it was one of the first options I changed on our build. Having had both before the black may get dirtier slightly quicker but is much easier to wipe clean imo

Can you show picture of inside. Just curious how it looks.

I’m not even going to consider apologising for the mess in the car. I got home at 11:30 last night as said after 1000 miles of which at least 900 the roof was down :lol:

Last two pictures are with the roof fully up, doors shut, windows open. It most definitely isn’t sunny/bright here today

Complete aside, now nearly 4K miles on it with all of them being fun related :driving:

[ref]Argyll Andy[/ref], thanks, and I think I’ve made an the right choice for me as it looks really good. I thought the other two trims seemed odd because the centre console is the only bit of trim that changes

I went the other way and ordered my sport with the aluminium.

I’m not too keen on the silver and black together TBH. Problem for me is the black gloss shows the scratches when you wipe it clean. Much prefer the aluminium around the centre console and all black around vents etc rather than a split of the two. Just my opinion.

The black gloss stays smudge and mark free for a maximum of 6 minutes after a thorough clean.
It looks nice but it's a sod to look after which pretty much sums up anything black.

FYI. Have you got an update on your car? Mine is code 151 now which means it’s moving up the production run;l, but is delayed another week so 8th nov.

[ref]ori[/ref], almost the same, it is being assembled and delivery remains week 44, there was an update last night so that should be current information. Maybe something with the colour or specification, mine is SFR, tech, comfort and driving packs. :idunno:

I would have thought that once it enters assembly, all the parts must have been allocated and are waiting to be fitted.

Yesterday mine was still week 44. Today it changed to week 45.
Mine is code 151 in Bodyshop. Are you getting email updates from bmw? Mine aren’t coming through and I have to check with the online chat.

Both our cars are on the production line. The delivery dates might be down to logistics and delivery schedules with yours arriving a few days before mine.

So an additional week of sleepless nights for me.

I would think its more likely a component issue at an assembly point, wrong part selection or a faulty/damaged component, which has pulled it out of production. Parts have to be allocated before the car enters assembly, paint is planned in.

Well the car hasn’t been pulled out of production. It’s moving along. Just one of those things.

We are in exactly the same boat. Mine has been in assembly complete since Friday. So we are waiting for shipping to happen.
Yours is supposed to arrive in 10 days?

So the one thing that is confirmed is my car is built with no missing spec that wasn’t expected like wireless charging.
That’s a good sign.
What is more concerning is it’s been at the same point for a week now. Assembly complete and hasn’t changed.

As if by magic, today my car has been handed over to distribution. I can see a light at the end of this tunnel!
