Have we just taken possession of the last Z4’s

Just checked with BMW and my car production changed code today to:

112 - scheduled for daily production pack
Estimated delivery week commencing 25th of October.

Apparently the next strange is “in production” so I’m confident things are moving along. Reality is that I’m looking at November collection of car.

[ref]sars[/ref],

She then said that mine was fixed for production last week in September so delivery, end of October, fingers crossed

Excellent news for both of you, absolutely delighted you’ll be getting them soon :D

Great news sars and ori ! think my M40 ordered last weekend is probably going to be April next year at the earliest  .

Yup, business case for M40 was definitely based on me not taking delivery until next spring so I can’t really moan (although I still will) !!

I was talking to a sports car dealer the other day about a Boxster GTS and the chip shortage issues along with waiting times for a build, one thing I hadn’t thought of is he says Porsche are taking orders, building cars, delivering them with specs missing such as 18way seats, then when you say that’s not what you ordered they offer you a deposit refund as they have customers waiting for cars who are not that bothered about certain specs. Pretty shitty trick imho. :x

Congrats on order! Spec? Colour?
I think in reality you are waiting similar time to what I did. Around the 5 month mark.

Thanks Ori - Misano Blue, only option is a Wind Deflector (already pushing the boat out with the base car!!).

How have you specced yours?

It’s a fine spec basic and you will love it. Blue is the fastest of the m40i range. ;)

I’ve got almost full monty. All the packs except visibility. Although I will add high beam assist when the car arrives.

The wait is killing me!
I know I could sell the car for profit when it arrives, but I can’t be without a zed for another 6 months.

Ah so you are blue too! Sounds an awesome spec that - so I’m guessing you sold your old Z as well?

Alas I am currently zedless. It hurts.

I am both zedless and carless too :(

Hopefully we should get them at the same time, think I may have said that before :D

Is that Porsche the manufacturer or just the Porsche dealers that shaft their customers so blatantly?

Not sure tbh, I’d think Porsche the manufacturer, just send cars knowing they’ll get sold and leave it up to the dealers to sort out the shouting and swearing.

Part of the new car experience is sitting down and working what you want - then to be given a take it or leave it choice at delivery time isn’t good.

I can’t verify that of course and it’s based on conjecture unless the guy I spoke to knows for 100% thats whats happening which again I can’t confirm. I’m going to ask the question straight to them, and I’d want something signing to back up what they say if it’s wrong.

I'd be surprised if Porsche, or any manufacturer, was doing that, it's breach of contract and could open up a whole can of worms.
