HAVE I STUFFED MY CHANCES OF GETTING A ZED

guys he said there was no flash and if it didn't flash no picture was taken, so stop scaring the guy and telling him how he has the horrible wait. all speed and redlight cameras flash. i bet you there's no camera there in the first place and he's worring about nothing.

peddy - that's certainly not true with regard to speed cameras

Truvelo operate in the infra red spectrum and make no visible flash. That's how they can be forward facing.
Specs often seen as average speed cameras don't flash either, etc. etc.

I accept that the small yellow traffic light controlled boxes 'PEEK' flash. Twice iirc once to phot and a second time to prove you actually continued and cannot claim you stopped just over the line. Of cuorse some of these ar enow converted to speed too

My insurance went up by £200 when i got 3 points for speeding! I guess that's because of my age, had my licence less than 3 years and the type of car it is though so it all adds up.

Sounds to me as though you should be ok for running the light, we've all done it! Don't worry yourself.

i thought the infra red ones were only the mobile ones? i've not seen one for redlights... they must me scarce?

We have infra red ones all over leicester now. Theres one on the A50 into leicester just after a normal gatso. Its setup on the lights and can do both red light jumpers and speeders at the same time.

My insurance went up £50 for 3 points, but as mentioned it could be as much as a few hundred.

Your probably worrying over nothing, i wouldnt lay awake a night wondering.

I drove around for over a year and a half with 9 points on my license, imagine the worry everytime you drive somewhere, i drove like Ms Daisy...

peddy - take a look at something like this:

http://www.speedcamerasuk.com/speed-camera-types.htm

You'll see just how many variations there are. We have the Truvelo all over Staffs. now and my 'favourite' is near the Belfry on the best overtaking stretch  They are rather nasty as with a Gatso you have braking time until you pass the camera but with Truvelo they snap you approaching.

Of course they don't worry me as I drive like a saint at all times anyway

Back to OP - if I worry abou this stuff all the time then perhaps you'd best not buy a Zed....

if you didnt see a camera that as some people have said, looks like a small gatso, then the other ones are just traffice monitoring cameras.

iv been in the same boat when i first past my test. speeding along with my tunes thundering through my subs at night and i saw the lights change late. my car locked up and skidded a few yards and eventually i just went straight through on my own momentum. my duds were cacked for about a month thinking i was going to get fined because of the little cameras on top, and then nothing, i wouldnt worry.

and anyway as woots said. one good night out extra on the insurance, im sure you would get over it once ur behind the wheel of a new Z.

you never know though, the local busy body might have seen u and reported it, doing the good citizen thing! :poke: :o

Did the same thing Sat 03/10 still watching the post its 14 working days :( till i know so annoying they changed to red as i went through was kicking myself all day as i already have 3 points for speeding :x

I got 3 Ponits + £60 fine back in dec 2005 for jumping a red light (TS50). I didn't tell my insurance company until renewal, and they tried to backdate the payments to the renewal quote so I moved on. Put my insurance up by at least £100, I was 25 at the time.
I didn't get flashed by a camera I got caught by two coppers on motor bikes.
