I've just got the renewal thing through and its £280! WTF It was £27x last year... creeping up towards £300 now, not happy about that... I'll be back on the WTF am I paying for rant shortly. When I first got this car I way paying £245...

tell me about it, 280 for this car and 230 odd for a car i drive 2K PA. its a joke. given the quality of the roads around here...... but of course it isnt for the upkeep of the roads is it...and its not a tax its a duty ..... sapre me! call it what you will its a tax thats s**t.

They are planning on road pricing next as the take from fuel duty and ved is dropping.

We will always be an easy target.

If its duty now... then why does the government still call it a TAX Disc! Grr.. I've never liked paying it but its getting higher and higher without me being told or noticing...

Im gunna cry when I first tax the m. It's fcking ridiculous. 500 quid is most definitely something to rant about :headbang:

Is that what it is for the M? Holy crap.. thats more than I pay in insurance! At least with insurance you know they're using it for something...

One of the nice things about the Alpinas is that they're taxed as PLG - but they do come into the more expensive 'over 1549cc' class which is currently £225 p/a

Exactly! Although my insurance is more than double that being 23 but I think thats reasonable given the risk to them etc. But yeah 490 for the year to be exact. But I won't let those cnuts stop me from having what I want even if I can't afford to live
It makes me sick knowing that people in free tax brackets or pay 30 quid a year are letting out more co2 than me because they do so many miles yet pay fck all.

FFS!!! :headbang: -they should stop it and put it on fuel-you pay as you use your car then.

Never understood why this never happened. The alternative to road tax is to invest in a decent colour photocopier!?!

Paid 490 last week for ///M
That's what I pay for my M3 & when I had my Zed I always thought I can tax a V8 for the same money it just doesn't make fair sense to me.

Why should a 3.2 straight six & a 4.0 V8 be the same price to tax surely the V8 should cost more.

I might get a 116d next I think that's free!

woah I didn't know M's were astronomical to tax!

Wish they'd use that tax to fix the potholes.

I'm not sure which way I want this to go

My ///M £490 pa and 2,000 miles

Company Car 118d £30 pa and 20,000 miles.

Screwed which ever way the government charge us.

yep, road tax sucks.... although some fool on a forum had a go at me for calling it that and saying it was a vehicle excise license.... potato/ potaata

im glad my annual renewal was a few months ago and only cost me about £165/ £175 :D

but like most say, if you have an m then i guess you pay the extra for the privilege of driving a special/ faster car.... either way, they like to bend you over cos they know you can afford it :x
