Halloween Egg Throwing

Driving home through Edinburgh tonight when a gang of hoodie scum bags threw an egg at my zed and a couple of other passing cars. The egg hit the passenger window with some force, but I was lucky that I avoided any damage to bodywork and just washed it off when I got home.

Surely I can't be the first to have this happen to them this year, but it really does make my blood boil to think what damage they could have caused.
 
Hope you washed it really well. In my experience egg white stains certain paint finishes perminantly. My garage door got egged some years ago and you can still see it even after I hosed it off

On that subject. I do remember 3 lads egging a rather portly young woman in a nightclub queue, from a soft top Fiat Cinquecento, at Haloween. POW POW - and the night was over :o 8)
 
I was home alone earlier and had three little girls turn up in costumes, I was going to give them a piece of mind pestering an old man alone in a house, but then decided to be nice. Afterwards I felt very unsure about what could have happened.

The zeds bodywork was wet due to recent heavy rain when the egg was thrown. Hopefully I got it all off as it was dark when I parked up at home, so I will be checking the zed over tomorrow morning.
 
Just "googled"it to check my facts. The egg will etch paint just like bird droppings as it is slightly acidic. Sorry to bring bad news.

Just went out again with a wee torch, and noticed the paint is scratched and chipped in a swirl type pattern from where the egg must have hit the bodywork :headbang: :headbang:

I had thought the egg had hit the passenger window as window was covered in egg white and shell.

Anyone know of or can recommend a mobile paint chip repairer.

Not the best picture because of the lack of light, but you can make the damage out.

 
That sucks.... sorry to see that :(. Damaging your own car is bad enough, but having some idiots doing it in the name of 'fun' is beyond annoying. :thumbsdown: Might it polish out ?
 
Its actually got chips in it, plus you can feel the surface is rough, just a real pisser as it is beyond polishing out. Not sure if the area can be easily repaired or if I am looking at having to get the whole door painted :headbang:
 
Sorry to hear that . Try Farecla G3 professional scratch remover, its worth a go and if it doesn't do the job a machine polish should do the trick.

Its the bloody shell that does the damage on impact. Polish may help if its only damaged the clear coat. If its deeper, its a touch up/smart repair job. Fecking hate egg throwing kids, they think its harmless.. its not!

I am hoping a smart repair will do the job rather than a full door respray. You are right Maniac it does appear the egg shell has damaged the clear coat and paint. I certainly know what I would like to do to the little f**Kers if I had caught them.
