Seems i may need to replace a hall sensor and looking on the forum the E88 version 54347190735 is suggested - old threads I know and suggest around £20-£30 however my searches are showing £100 + is this just shortages or profiteering?

Any one know the best place to get those from currently?

TIA

BMW profiteering

Sadly I don’t know of any other options

I got 2 spare hall sensor with a ram for a Toyota. For £20 few years ago. Also from LLL for a Mini about £15.
So try to be creative in your search.
Seem to used on a lot of cabrio's, Ferrari, Lambo, Toyota, Mini, BMW. Also Jaguar and Audi.
Try breakers.

But do you really need to replace the sensor.
How many actually fail.
Are you just taking what a obd reader tells you.
Might be just a broken wire or bad connector, my car has had both.

Thanks - I’ve had a search on mini ones but also seem expensive as well. Will keep searching, not totally desperate yet 👍🏻

Prices utterly ridiculous for something with £1 of parts inside.
Someone needs to reverse engineer with a 3d printed housing.

The chip inside is well known. The magnet seems to be the more complicated part of this assembly;

Developing a 3D housing should be possible.

The dimensions of the housing are a limiting factor. And in fact, the special format of this magnet, I can't imagine how to produce.
