More of a moan than anything else.
Blue skies this morning...roof down day for the drive to work
Park up. Handbrake on, into neutral, and press the roof up button.
At this point, we all know that we are supposed to have some noise and the roof closes. Well we had some noise and the roof labours to get to the halfway point and then silence. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Bugger all...well, not strictly true. We have a little red flashing light on the dashboard to tell me there is a fault. Now you have to give BMW there due and they think of everything. I mean, the average motorist might miss the fact that their roof is stuck in the half up/half down position but BMW very kindly put a little tiny flashing light to tell us.
TBH - don't know if the motors have ever been replaced. I know that they drain holes are ok as I've seen water collecting just in front of the back wheels when it's rained.
Like I say...more of a moan than anything as I've resigned myself to getting the motor replaced (the cars a 2003 model with 110k on the clock).
Looking on the bright side though - it's a fix that can wait a while as summer is now officially over
