I only have it in sport mode when in manual. If i'm in "D" i just leave it all alone....but i'm in manual most of the time unless stuck in traffic

mcbeee said:a bit off topic : I always use Sport mode when I cruise on the highway (cruise control on) as the more sensitive throttle control does give me about one mpg better economy.
mcbeee said:Cj, blistering long drives over here give you plenty of time to compare "cruise on" with Sport selected vs Normal mode. Sport+ won't allow cruise control so can't compare. I found that the +/- speed differential while set on cruise is slightly smaller in Sport mode due to the increased sensitivity and the car makes smaller throttle adjustments than in Normal mode. It is only 1 mpg on a base of 34mpg so 2 to 3%.
when you jump in and drive 800 to 1000 miles non stop (except fuel stops ) you need something to occupy your mind. Some of the roads here go for 100's of miles with barely a curve in them and when I count antelope in the fields to stay alert I have to quit after about half a million so car testing and data collection happen a lot...![]()
