Gruppe M (engine rev issues?)

Have a look on the Japanese Gruppe M website, it gives you the dimensions of the filter and they're made by K&N, 90% sure on that, so easy to match up.

Try some electrical contact cleaner on the MAF first. That's the trouble with buying that particular Gruppe M. I really fancied it, but he wouldn't budge on price, so I'd rather of spent another £120 for a new item that I knew wouldn't of been over oiled :(

You can even see the K&N logo in their spare parts page :)

Weird they wouldn't help you.

Do you spray the oil on the inner part of the cone or just the outer?

wash from the inside with a low pressure water source and oil the outer gently, just till it gets the salmon colour.

Fingers crossed this could solve it, obviously it makes sense to do it at the same time I clean and re oil the filter.

Yeap - Long but good video here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZrFv77l9nQ

Just make sure not to touch the sensor with your hand or cloth. Just the spray.

Gave it a clean using the contact cleaner but no luck. Looks like it's a new MAF.

Car is now back to stock while I clean and re oil the gruppe m.

Also just listed it on eBay will be a good buy as it will be like new for the next owner (if it sells)

Shame that didn't work. Sure you don't want to give the Gruppe M a second chance?

Will keep an eye on it. As I've said I tried to buy that actual one :)

Don't be tempted to over oil the filter! I'd probably want to do it myself anyway for peace of mind.

Could of collected it this weekend too as I'm down in Penrith from Aberdeen and potentially part exchanged my carbon airbox lid and BMC panel filter
