Gruppe M (engine rev issues?)

Make sure the Gruppe M is clean and the MAFF as well. It takes a few start ups and miles for the ECU to adapt to the new airbox.

I gave the maf a clean and put the stock airbox back on but still having the same issues.

I cleaned the filter element last night. Going to re oil tonight.

Once the oil is dry I was thinking I might attach the dyson to replicate the suction of air by the engine. I thought this might remove any excess oil and dirt?

Vacuum leak....still a chance. Does it misfire on start up? Check and recheck all hoses underneath the intake plenum is attached. It's a long shot but it may have come off when you disturbed the airbox

Let us know, but seriously, mine did have a higher than normal idle but I do know that ECU's adapt to varying O2 levels (at altitude for instance) and petrol qualities. So I drove from the garage to home (a few miles) and when I started it an hr later it was running fine.

Filter it all sorted, cleaned and oiled. It's like new now.

I let the oil soak for an hour then dabbed it with a micro fibre cloth.
