Decided that the Gruppe-M is being drowned out by the exhaust, and if I want more noise (and a bit more power) I will have to go for a full carbon intake/plenum.

Have looked at a few, but a friend can get me a good deal on a Mk2 Geoff Steel box and can do the MAF-less tune for me (plus any other bits the Z4M version needs).

It will never be what you call 'cheap', but he won't rip me off.

So with that in mind, there seems no reason to keep the Gruppe-M.

That must be a loud exhaust to drown this out :P
My favourite mod I've done to mine GLWTS

I’d buy it except it won’t be any use to me when I eventually get my supercharger (so I’ve been telling myself for years) :D

Supercharger has always been my aim, but I can only insure it (at a sensible price) if I limit the mileage on it to below 5,000 miles, and take off commuting/business use. Which makes it a bit pointless. Plus it's about £8k all in.

The GSR carbon box 'can' be done for less than £2k and I've been told to expect about 20bhp/lbft once mapped (not a generic download either).

How old is it and how many miles on it ?

Thanks
I bought it through the group buy on here in November 2014.

It was on the car for about a year (probably 20,000 miles) until an accident meant the car was taken off the road from Dec-15 to about Sep-17 (didn't want to leave it on the car whilst it was at the bodyshop).

It was only put back on the car (after cleaning/oiling) before the Z4 National Meet last month (as we had building work done at home and had to move all my spares into the loft garage, behind lots of other stuff), and has done no more than 1,000 miles since then.

It comes with everything it was supplied with, but also with the mesh screen aka 'rectification honey cam/honeycomb' (which isn't supplied) from an original airbox (I had a spare airbox, so no need to remove it).

Ok thanks for the info .... can you inc postage for the £550 ?

Just weighing up £550+ postage for a 4.5 year old one or new eventuri for £660 delivered .

Sorry, I've only just put the advert up, so am happy to wait a while for my full asking price, as I know these don't come up often.

Although, to be fair, you should be weighing up £550+pp for a 4.5 year old Gruppe-M vs the £900 a new Gruppe-M?

I'm not saying the Gruppe-M is better as I've no experience of the eVenturi, but the Gruppe-M is the daddy of these types of intake - and the only 'upgrade' seems to be a full CSL-style box with Alpha-N at £2k+

What does it sound like?

 2 weeks into ///M & " i will be keeping the car totally stock " is looking iffy :P :D adding a Gruppe should be the first thing any M owner does imo  think S54 pulling hard in 2nd - 3rd & 4th , , you like it now  then imagine the noise intensified & multiplied :)
it turns a already angry engine into demented

It's interesting as everybody raves about them but listening to it on the internet I'm wondering if I'm missing something. Personally I wouldn't spend £600 for an induction kit. I'd rather spend the money on getting the crank bearings replaced.

You’ll probably end up doing both

Just a matter of time really !

Videoing exhausts/intakes never replicates what you get in real life.

For example, here’s an S54 on velocity stacks...sounds like you could live with it day to day, but in real life you’d be scared of using full throttle without wearing earplugs.

It's simply the best affordable mod you can do on the M.

Just sent money ..... considering I’m not completely in love with my MC I’m spending quite a bit on it already ! If ( read when ) I do fall in love I’m gonna be skint

You've gotta hear it in the metal to believe the noise. The s54 isn't complete without a Gruppe M or similar. Get a ride in one with it fitted and you'll understand  :driving:
