Group buy - remote roof / remote roof one touch ** Closed **

Finally got a chance to install it. Tried scotch lock first absolute waste of time. Went down to b&q got a soldering kit and a dual action automatic wire stripper (fantastic tool for 'mid wire stripping' by the way). Once I got the right tools it was pretty straight forward. Never soldered anything before but it was very easy. Works fantastic. Cheers gaptech...

FItted and working perfectly. Took about 1hr 45 minutes to do this, install my DIY AUX cable and have a poke around behind the stereo to get ideas for bluetooth car kits,etc.

Love the GapTech module - works so well! :thumbsup:
 
Fitted the RO unit in 25 minutes soldering all 3 wires.
Considered soldering the previously scotch locked connections but then thought if it ain't broke then why fix it.
Taped the two modules together which made it easier to put them back in out the way.
Everything working as it should :thumbsup:

Began by using the scotchlocks provided but after using the first one I decided that I preferred a more thorough effort and soldered them all instead.
Took about 2 hours but also fitted the intavee kit in that time. Very pleased to get my first mods completed without any dramas.
 
Fitted RO unit works fine i used scotchlocks, but call me a beginner, I managed to short the cigar lighter circuit pressing home the connector with my leatherman thought I was doomed but the 15A fuse saved the day :oops:

Note to self disconnect the battery next time
 
Anyone have diffivculty identifying the brown/red wire you need to connect to the modules green wire. No I know theres not a lot of options on the big narrow plug but brown and red; please try and source a better colour combo BMW.
Specially those of us with a brown/red colour blindness!
Spo too the point apart from the brown/violet there is only another brown wire and as said beore it looks all brown to me? Presume this is the correct one!!

Interesting as that is clear. However the brown wire I identified is next to the brown/violet as well so all good.

Walking away from the car whilst it folds the roof up and winds up the winds is such a great feeling, its like a Transformer :evil: maybe not optimus prime stardard but still way cool :thumbsup:

Just a quick question. Since installing the module. I've noticed that my passenger window sometimes rolls down again after I remotely put the roof up. It is fairly intermittent and I'm guessing more a sign of my windows needing reset (which I'll do later tonight) but just wondering if anyone else had noticed this?

I'm really loving the module GapTech - such a big improvement on the standard!
 
Hi Everyone!

Is this still going ahead? If so i may be interested. Just to clarify are the prices at the top per module? So if i want the one touch and the remote is it x2 the price?
