The module connects to the loom behind the centre console, 3 wires for the remote only or 5 wires for the combined unit, full installation instructions and connectors are provided with each unit. There is no new remote on your keyring required and you do not need to have your key programmed in any particular way. When you press the unlock button on your existing remote three times about 1 second apart the roof will open and if you press the lock button in the same mannor then the hood will close. A single press of either button when the hood is moving will stop the hood from moving. The one touch feature allows you to just press one of the dash buttons for 0.5 seconds and then release and the hood will continue on its own whilst you manoeuvre the Z4.

Hi Gaptech, I have your original one touch and it works perfectly. If I buy the remote only, will I get a completely new module to do one touch and remote to fit, or will I have a unit just to do the remote? In other words, will I have two little boxes behind the centre panel or just one? I read the above as having a new unit with 3 more wires to fit. Is that right?

Payment will be via paypal but please hang on a bit until it's ready.
If you have an original one touch fitted then you just need to buy and fit the remote only version and you will then have two modules fitted.
If you didn't already have the one touch (and you wanted both features) then you'd buy a remote + one touch combined module to give you both features.

When closing roof remotely, what "state" does it leave the alarm in.
A double press of the lock button on the remote disables the cars tilt alarm and interior motion sensor.
Or does the 3rd press of the button fully alarm the car again?

Double press will disable the interiour alarm.
