50:50 is quite a high mix. Mine is 60:40. The 40 is further split 60:40 WW account billings and individual goals

Complex, but as I'm tied to one major accounts fortunes, my personal goals can offset a poor performance from my customer

Doctors don't actually make that much until you become senior enough to do private practice. i worked way over my legal 48 hours/week in my first year post qualification almost all on my extra hours were unpaid as i couldn't leave as someone was sick. one on my friends actually tallied up all the paid and unpaid hours she worked divided by her salary and it can to less then working in Maccy Ds per hour

Ever thought about turning to the dark side of General practice and maybe a few Botox parties on the side  ?

We have had nice but not over the top things. We managed to pay off a 30 year mortgage on our first home in 18 years by making extra payments. Then sold it for double what we paid.
I never understood the fasination of clearing a mortgage so soon? Why not use that money and buy a second property. The rent would cover almost both mortgages. That's my plan and what I'm doing.

To be honest, the detail is so complicated I barely understand it... But Stuart will know what I am on about :x

It is much less attractive than it looks Stuart - 10% order value, 40% revenue (billings), 20% customer satisfaction, 20% product revenue and 10% product margin. But the last three are measured at a unit level, so in reality only 50% of my bonus is under my control. The rest depends on 400 other dozy feckers all hitting their targets...

jeepers, are people taking the pith? 8 people so far on more than 60K

I'm not surprised Taz really. The Zed is quite an expensive car to buy new and can be expensive to maintain too (especially the M).

Especially in Australia...!?!? ;-)

It is called risk. No mortgage means you owe nothing to nobody, so if the interest rate goes to 15%, it does not affect you. Bit like owning the car, nobody can take it from you.

I'm with the 'one account' so don't get hit with early repayment charges - So what with interest rates being so low I've been putting more in each month, infact 50% more on average

(hopefully) this means I can clear the mortgage quicker, in turn less interest to the wankers

But yes a second property is needed, more so as the pension pot will be non existent

Exactly. Managing to clear my mortgage early is now very close to the top of my list after managing to knock most other debt on the head. It's also worth another £800+ a month disposable income for me.

can never understand why people are so obsessed with being mortgage free ?
in your mind you are free yet in reality no freer just one less payment yet the house is still not technically an asset ?
for that it would have to produce a return so better to remortgage the house & invest in other property to produce income 8)
yes / no ?

Yes, that is one possible goal... But eventually I want to emigrate, so the cash will go toward that in full... Which I guess is the same thing just inter-continental :D

yes / no ?

of course it's an asset.

think of opportunity cost, not just straight return.

How long is that insurance though? It won't pay forever ...
