I think that’s too big at 135/90. 135 is the width of the tyre in mm and 90 is the profile (depth) as a percentage of the width. Hence 225/40 (front) has the same rolling circumference as 255/35 (rear) for an 18” wheel on a staggered setup, which is the same as 125/80 on a 17” rim.
So you can see that, if 125/80R17 is the correct size, 135/90R17 is too big. It would be correct for a X3/4x4 type which runs on a higher profile tyre. Sure it might get you home, but I wouldn’t drive more than a few miles with the wrong sized wheel on.
You can check wheel tyre size vs your current set up on willtheyfit.com
The other thing to check is the age of the tyre, as an original spare out of a 15-20 year old vehicle will be well past it’s best.
Whereabouts are you? I would consider selling you mine but I wouldn’t want the hassle of having to post it.
