Hi, great to finally get my car yesterday and join this forum properly!
Can anyone help advise me on what size/kind of space saver I would need for a 2006 3.0si MSport please?
I'm guessing because of the bigger brakes it may need a bigger wheel?
Any help appreciated :)
Dan

Welcome!

Get some pics up of the beauty

Check the wheel size id imagine it’s on 18” rims, then check the offset clearance-

Hello.
You will need to post pictures of your new acquisition, or you will be about as popular as Prince Harry at William's birthday party.

Welcome to the mad house from sunny, (at the moment), Cornwall.

Thanks guys! It has some 18" Japan Racing JR 28 wheels on. 8.5" front and 9.5" rear if that helps? Pictures on their way....

Pictures - just washed!

Nice. To hopefully answer the question I have a 125/80R17 Continental tyre on a 4” steel BMW rim with et30. This fit on my 3.0Si coupe just fine and has the same rolling radius as a standard 225/40R18. It’s very light compared to a standard wheel/tyre combo and doesn’t take up much space in the boot.

Welcome to the madhouse.
Nice looking motor, but rather you than me cleaning those wheels. :D

Great to have you on the forum Ferruccio! To my taste those wheel offsets look just right.

Thanks Zebedee, what does that entail buying in layman's terms?! I'm guessing et30 is something related to offset? I'm not too clued up on wheels so any point in the right direction would be welcomed 😁

Et30 is the offset, but probably not a huge consideration for a spare wheel. You would do OK to start on eBay looking for a BMW space saver with the same tyre dimensions as stated. Make sure the bolt pattern is 5 x 120.
Or you could buy new from a BMW dealer or buy new from an aftermarket provider, but both those options will be quite expensive.

Hi and welcome to the forum with your lovely 3.0Si.

Whatever space-saver you get it will need to be at least 17" diameter to clear your front brakes. I had one for my 2nd Coupe that came from an E46 3 Series, but only 330i and 330d had 17" ones as they had the bigger front brakes like the 3.0Si.

Don't forget you'll need a jack and wheel-brace too and if you ever use the space-saver you'll need to put a full-size wheel in the boot!

I wonder if this would do the trick?
