Green Tiefgruen Coupe - New Interior

Not sure if anyone's answered yet but I was under the impression Bilstein dampers had internal bump-stops?

EDIT: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/1213179-bump-stops-on-b8.html Seems they do based on this thread at least...!

I didn’t see this reply. You’re absolutely right Ed Doe.
Bilstein got back to me. Bumpstops are internal front and back on these

No worries, good to have it verified direct from Bilstein, rather than hearsay from the internet!

[ref]Street[/ref], got any paint onto that bonnet and bumper yet?
Out of curiosity, what spec wheels and tyres are you running? I've got 225/35 and 255/30 fitted but your tyres look a fair bit meatier than mine (which I'd prefer for my next set). I'm even considering 235/35/19 and 275/30/19 for my next set (identical radii and sidewall heights front and rear) but that may be pushing it (8.5/9.5J rims). Happy to hear your thoughts on this

FYI there is a Coupe (same colour) just popped up on FB for sale at £6K

Come on you, keep up, it’s the one at the start of this thread :poke:

I toyed with this when Street was selling when he got his second and now you’ve said this I’m trying to convince myself that I most definitely don’t need it. The problem is it’s the best colour being green  so the draw is even greater

I've got the green bumper with a fresh coat of paint still sitting in my back garden if anyone takes it on :)

Big week for me next week. Tiefgruen 2.0 has been on hold temporarily while I got distracted by a little silver number and held some money back for a possible purchase for her. Either way its all go again!

I went to collect the Tiefgreun 2.0 from the bodyshop yesterday after a month of excited waiting. I nearly cried..
The top coat finish was horrendous. The orange peel was so bad the paint looked like a matt finish.

It's had nearly a full respray. I've gone from expecting it to look pristine to feeling like every panel has been damaged.
The MD took it back without a challenge and was very appologetic. Its now being flat and polished and we'll go from there.

I hated leaving it with them. They are normally very good and the car was amoungst some super car company also in for work.
I dont know if it was a Friday job, "old car so that'll do" or trainee but I'm gutted. I just wanted to take it away and give it to someone else.

I have to give them a chance to fix it. Perhaps it'll come out better than ever now they know I'll be super critical.. hopefully better news to follow. :)

Anyone had a poor quality paint job? What could you do if you cant reach an agreement on whats acceptable?

This is why I hate getting my own cars painted.

As part of my job I look after a collection of cars. We have used the same the same guy to paint them since forever. This is a person who does impeccable work, brand new cars have had panels painted and its a perfect match even copying the factory finish orange peel effect.

After knowing him for 10 years my own car had the bumper reversed into. It was an insurance job so I took it to him for a quote to send to the insurance company. I got a quote from him last so that he could be £10 under everyone else and he got the job.
When my partner collected the car and I saw it when I got home it was awful. Bumper hadn't been removed and reverse sensors had been painted over in situ. Colour was off with a terrible finish. Paint started to peel off after 2 years.
I didn't do anything, I just couldn't believe it and never used him again for my personal cars.

It really gives you a kick in the crackers when you see your car in that state. I get that these guys are against the clock and sometimes other factors have an impact. What probably angers me most is that they tried to give it back to me in that state. The painter, the guys reassembling, the guy polishing would have all seen it and no-one did the right thing and call it out.

Teaser alert.. Tiefgreun 2.0 is almost done! The bodyshop are respraying the front and have flat and polished the rest so I’m happy. Took a few pics while there last week to remind myself what it looks like! It’s been too long and can’t wait to get it back.

Still looking for champagne or Sepang interior if anyone wants to sell or swap
