Well here's how i see the difference 8) buyers of the E85 do so either because they are cheaper & budget doesn't allow for a E86 or in most cases that they want a convertible car , buyers of the E86 do so because they are drawn to the shape & style  if the E85 looked better us coupe owners could save a few ££ & buy one insteadjohn-e89 said:mr wilks said:Well we shall have to agree to disagree , I can't recall one single magazine or film article that indicates a E85 will emerge as a design icon in years to come 8) the E86 has already made it :wink:buzyg said:Keep dreaming Mr Wilks. the 3/4 is great. Does anyone ever join the forum with a post " looking to buy a E85 because it looks amazing " no they don't because nobody buys the E85 for its design , therefore the coupe " made it " from the day it left the factory  case close , have a nice day![]()

You singled out the rear of a Zc as "far too bulky on the arse " yet you clearly like that in a car as the E89 has anything but a svelte rear .
Its just opinion John , we are all entitled to one it just so happens i'm right your wrongjust google " Bmw Z4 coupe reviews " & read a few , they can't all be wrong & i'm yet to read one that would describe the rear as " far too bulky on the arse end "

Nope not at all , had the C4 997 from last May to January 2020 don't forget so roofdown motoring as been a while for me & not missing it at all . Noit sure if other ZC owners have made this discovery yet but windows down at full chatt across country its hard to believe you have a roof as the wind buffet through cabin is totally reminiscent of my E85s![]()
My weekend cars pre Z were coupes ( 964 , 996 , 645ci , Brera ) then arrived here with a Si ZC , deviated along the way into E85s + E89s but see no return to verts anytime soon , 981 Cayman or M4 (coupe) the only 2 possibles id consider right now

The rear of a Z coupe is something that E85 owners can only dream over
