Right I did a little testing this afternoon, I re-checked my cold pressures with two different gauges and depending on which is correct was running either 29F/31R or 32F 34R I. I upped it as suggested to a mid range reading of 34/36 and voilà a noticeable improvement in motorway stability, I'm very happy, so thanks for the suggestion
Can anyone recommend an accurate pressure gauge![]()

The handling after this change at first was all over the place and I put this down to the protective coating on new tyres. When it did not improve after 600 miles I had a 4 wheel alignment done. This has been done 3 times and the car is set up correctly but although the handling is better than it was, it is still unstable at speeds over 60mph.
I still have the Falkens on the front which still have 4mm of tread on. After reading threads on here, I am now convinced the problem is either the new tyres or the miss-match of the Goodyear and the Falkens.
Do I replace the Falkens with new Goodyears on the front and will this solve the problem or will it make it even worse?
Or do I ditch the Goodyears and replace with Falkens?

What load rating are the tyres you bought?
