This may seem very naive but is there a difference in performance between the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 & 6s

One?

Progress I think, on the Golf we had 5's on the front and 6's on the rear, I couldn't tell any real difference, however I'm sure that there improvements however slight they may be.

edit, damn beat me too it 8)

Suppose it had to happen.

Also checked out the Asymmetric 3s and apart from the slight difference in price the manufacturers blurb reads very similar.

Just after a good all round tyre, don’t change to winter tyres as if snow or ice is around the free bus and Metro pass comes out.

Assy 6 is better than Assy 5..simples

I have them on my E85 and really like them although I have noticed that I now have understeer going into a corner that turns into oversteer in the corner. Is this normal? :?

As long as it is predictable and it isn't snapping, then I would say it is okay. Are you running a square or staggered set up?

IMHO..that’s very odd on a stock BMW..either a geometry issue or something else… :tumbleweed:

Staggered 224 wheels, it is very predictable

I have suspicions that when a refresh was done to the suspension the car had sport springs along with the bilstein B4s fitted as it has always looked a bit lower than other Se cars.

Sudden oversteer is sometimes caused by rear toe out..in part due to worn bushes..there are many other possible causes..but that’s common on E85/E89

I'm betting he is just carrying to much speed into the corner and then gunning it  :driving:

If your name is Chris Harris or Tiff Needell, maybe. Otherwise, I doubt it.

I stopped worrying about small differences between tyres a long time ago and just stick with reputable brands that are popular for whatever car I'm driving. If I went on a track, I might have a different view.

B21, I will get the alignment done soon and see if that helps, it might just be my imagination again, who knows

Not aloud, sars, the wife feels car sick if I do. I have however wondered if I am carrying too much speed into the corner because the new tyres ‘feel’ safer. And I don’t realise it. :?

Imagination is pretty powerful…get them to check the flex in to rear trailing arm bush..when worn it flex’s out creating toe out..interesting rear wheel steering..

At last, decent feedback, Cheers and Asymmetric 6s it is. Will be fitting soon once STMBO has checked out discount and voucher codes available

I used to be quite gentle with the MPSS's when they were cold, the GYA6's on the other-hand, not so much :D
