Good price for boiler and fit

They're right on the border between london and Essex so I imagine they're probably paying a premium for that.

Don't forget that they add profit on the cost of materials.

I wouldn't recommend their boilers to my worst enemy..........well, actually on second thoughts, I would!

we had ours done last year and a Worcester combi fitted in a 4 bedroom house with a remote thermostat for £1500

Give B & Q a swerve as their boilers although cheap are rubbish and not fuel effective. False economy. The Vailliant Ecotec boiler gets good reviews and is a Band A boiler.

I'm a showroom manager for b&q and have to say there boilers are spot on, in my store we sell 3 a week with no complaints and hear nothing but good things about that

This is a good site for comparing the efficiency of different brands and models of Central heating boilers and should always aim to install one with as high efficiency as possible.

You should be looking around the £1500 give or take 10% for the job doing as a rough guide

The Ecotec 831 boiler on it's own is actually £1200 including VAT (just checked the price  ) so would be most surprised if someone could do that for £1500 all in with the work required to the new flue through the roof, condensing drain, electrics, thermostat etc.

Ok , i was throwing ballpark figures out but taking into account the specifics then £2000 give or take 10% should be the target from a reputable contractor .
Ive bought & renovated many houses both here & in France & after 25 years self employed in the construction industry some of the quotes i see & hear about never fail to make my eyes water

i just had a full system purchased and installed in a house for £2500.

but thats ooop north of course

I've just paid £3,300 for a Valliant Ecotec Plus 428 (28 kW), TRV's to rads, chemical flush but mine was a bit more complex because it also involved relocating the boiler from the kitchen to the airing cupboard with the all hassle of re-routing the gas supply and relocating all the controls too. I had a few quotes before deciding who to use.
