Good price for boiler and fit

... mine was a bit more complex because it also involved relocating the boiler from the kitchen to the airing cupboard with the all hassle of re-routing the gas supply and relocating all the controls too.

I think a relocation of the boiler is bound to increase the work required as you've found out with the revised Building Regulations now in place, so an extra £1000 should not be unexpected. However, you clearly did the right thing by getting a few comparable quotes.

There's no relocation involved here so it sounds like it's too much money, especially not knowing if it includes VAT or not... Got a few people on the case now for comparable quotes so will report back.

my last replacement boiler cost me £1200 fitted with a 5 year guarantee (servicing at £60 per year), and that was for a 3 bedroom, terraced house. i know prices in london are a lot more expensive so i guess 2k all in would be a decent price for down there

Well that doesn't inspire me. The OP has been quoted for a Valliant Boiler, which are well regarded in the industry and by SEDBUK, and they retail for just over £1200 as I mentioned previously.
