Gone ///M after a long wait . . . .

Congrats Paul & Steph.......glad it's stayed on the forum and gone to someone who's going to put the right sort of miles on it. :D

See you both in July.

Congratulations, have seen it in the flesh a few times and it is indeed a corking example in the perhaps the third best colour (PY and Sepang :D )

Bitten by the M bug ,always thought it would get to you someday. Looks like a great car ,can't wait to see it in the flesh. Hope you both have many happy miles together in it.
Just thinking of all that training it's going to get over our fabulous roads, and of course "Pauls Hill" !.I have a feeling it's going to be a busy few months .

Congratulations Paul - I'm shocked that my fellow 3.0si buddy has moved on :o but also very excited for you and Steph. Our Zed history was the same up until this. I wonder if one day (in the distant future) it will match again
I will be eagerly awaiting your comparison between the 3.0si and ///M.
Really pleased for you both - well done

Congrats Paul & Steph!

What a fantastic ///M to start your journey with. It looks fantastic and I am sure you'll enjoy it immensely!

Look forward to seeing lots more photos on your trips out! :driving:

House, deals agreed today, so early days. Can't believe I will have a pit, although not sure how much use they are. Be handy for cleaning underneath hopefully.
You might get the odd visitor...

Surprised that a 'For Sale' ad for a Stratus Grey 3.0si Sport hasn't made an appearance yet - or is Steph keeping that one so you can have his'n'hers hoons? :driving:

I would never describe you as odd Perry

Congrats Paul. A wise purchase to provide maximum enjoyment.
- Now let's see if the 'upgrade ripple' follows through all of the North East boys over the summer !

Paul and Steph called today and the good lady was extremely impressed with their M but we just bought a demo Golf R as a daily driver so no chance of upgrading the Z.
May have to use it to keep up with their M ,Daves 3.0 and super fast Craig in future.
Just as well Alien Z isnt up here all the time as I couldnt keep up with him either on our last jaunt.
Still that "M" will be a beautifull sight to see disappearing up the road.

Lovely upgrade Paul..... When is the next run out around the north east ?? I have met a couple of guys with Z3 s in the area that will be up for it too

Thanks for all the best wishes everyone.
We've spent today visiting our Forum friends and other mates to show them the new ///M - the response has been a unanimous positive with even 'none car' folk commenting how beautiful and impressive the ///M looks.
Consequently, we haven't really used the ///M as it should be - just pottering about urban areas really.
I have a few comments to make - though only based on motorway work and a commute around our friends:
The biggest impression is the poise of the ///M. Even the few corners and roundabouts we've taken show that there is a surprising lack of inertia in the cabin when cornering. The ///M seems so stable and balanced. The suspension seems more poised and gives a slightly better ride than the si - could be the higher profile of the tyres? Performance is noticeable in the way it accelerates ever more quickly as it flies through the rev range. The si has a brilliant engine but it does not have the urgency of the ///M.
Then I drove my si this morning - what a smooth and strong engine - the drive train of gearbox and engine is superb - it's such a capable Zed. Yet, in comparison to the ///M it felt more car like than 'sports car' even though it's such an entertaining and effective drive.
We have organised a run with PorthoZ4 and Cherrym on Friday - I'm interested to see how I feel after one of our more usual runs out.
We shall see. . .
