Going, going gone!

Agreed he needed to go.

Problem now for Starmer is he's got to start coming up with ideas instead of relying on being capt' hindsight and having a pop at anyone and everything, along with his nasty gobshite deputy tart flashing her knickers, and there will be his downfall because he has the square root of nothing to offer, no ideas, just Mr grey dull as dishwater know nothing. He's gonna miss Boris....

Boris took on mission impossible.

Who now ? FFS

Oh and partygate, what a load of bollock's looking at the bigger picture.

Why isn’t the Dep PM stepping up to the plate?
Surely that’s his pay grade and what’s expected of him?

It's a shame its ended as it has because Boris did a better job than anyone else could have done with Brexit and covid. He didn't strike the initial deal he had to rescue it from May's limp wristed effort. And it's no use getting all hot under the collar over covid, would anyone else have done any better..? It's Absolutely laughable to think what Starmer or Corbyn would have done, makes me shudder. Easy to criticize afterwards isn't it.

He's def screwed himself big time but it's a shame, best of a bad lot all round is better than any other option.

Maybe because it's Dominic Raab, Ron.
He makes Boris look like a God, which is why he presumably got the job.
Frying pan and fire spring to mind.

Today is a very good day for the country. The greasy piglet has finally been ousted. He has done huge damage to the country, the full extent of which has yet to be revealed.

An effective campaigner he may have been but he was totally unsuited for high office. A truly awful man and the worst prime minister we've ever had. Such a shambolic and humiliating end - perhaps that is fitting for such a man! He cares for no one except himself and the manner of his downfall will forever taint his legacy.

Hopefully this brings an end to the corrosive politics of division that he promoted, the law breaking, the inane slogans, the twisted truth making, the attacks on cherished institutions and professions and the promotion of lightweight sycophants into positions of power

I don't think there can be a worse replacement for him although there are not many who have acted with honor during the embarrassing debacle of his time in office.

Looking forward to seeing the end of Rees Mogg and Dorries too :D
So wonderfully put

Agreed; but her dad was a famous (?) actor and her husband bankrupted the Country; what's not to like?

Seriously, John? I could have done a better job on my own than he did with either.

He was elected (OK his Government was elected) solely on the Brexit ticket after 3 years of the UK doing nothing about it. He was the man to 'get it done' in a way that was advantageous for the UK. That did not happen.

Brexiit was a political 'mistake', as Cameron's Government never thought we would actually vote to leave. When we did, they were completely stumped. That's why he bailed, which is a shame as he was the nearest thing to a decent Tory leader we have had since Maggie IMO.

As for Covid (which is still alive and doing very well), his Government couldn't give a flying f*ck about it. It was an inconvenience that was costing the Country billions. They went against medical advice from the outset. The only saviour we had was the very clever scientists who managed to create a vaccine in record time; nothing to do with Boris or his Government (although he took credit for that too).

I think that sums it up pretty well. I'd add that whilst its true we got off to a flying start on vaccination because we bet the house on Astra Zeneca many other European countries overtook us and had we still been in the EU we would have kept up/led as we would have access to many more vaccines from other suppliers. Also worth remembering that Johnson missed the first 5 COBRA meetings as he was focused on finishing his Churchill biography. Calls to order protective gear were ignored and scientists' warnings fell on deaf ears - those 38 days probably cost many thousands of lives. Can't lay the blame entirely at his feet but the fact he was absent surely didn't help? Any other PM would have been in the room and paying attention.

I think the inquiry into how the government handled the pandemic may make for pretty grim reading when it comes out.
