GM5 Woes

So, I took my GM5 out to send out to be repaired. After 5 days of no update on tracking I've resigned myself to the fact that the Royal Mail have lost the item (sent Royal Mail Special Delivery)

Like a right plonker I didn't take a direct photo of the part number sticker, I do have one photo that vaguely shows the part number sticker but you can't make out the text. The only thing I notice is that the BMW logo on the sticker is on the opposite side to most, so I think I've narrowed down the part number.

If I was to buy a direct replacement of the same part number would it be a matter of slotting it in and then just recording the keys. Obviously I can't pull of any data of the unit that is now lost :(

I'm not really sure where to go from here!

And as I post this the tracking is updated on my unit in the Royal Mail system so I’m hoping it’s on its way to be repaired after all, let’s hope it’s a simpler journey back home.

Correct. Plug it in and sync your keys and you are good to go. However, you may have to code certain things like one touch window up/down and other items that might be unique to your car.

Probably delayed by the postal strike. I'm sure it will get there ok

It’s made its way up to Leeds. They’re meant to be prioritising Special Delivery. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly it gets back down South.
