Full detail done this weekend, and now I’m knackered and it’s back to work tomorrow.

In total I think it was about 22 hours of work. Would have been longer had I not done the engine last week!

STAGE 1 - INTERIOR

Vac, Meguiars back to black all plastic, Gummiphleg all rubber, clean and seal the leather seats and steering wheel with Chemical Guys in matte finish, polish silver bits including pedals, Auto Glym fabric cleaner on mats and boot, Auto Glym Fast Glass on all internal glass (man do I hate doing the inside of the windscreen)

STAGE 2 - FULL DECONTAMINATION

Pre rinse, wheels cleaned with Meguiars Extreme wheel cleaner and small brush for around the nuts and long brush for inside of the alloys, rinse, door sills and all nooks and crannies with Auto Finesse Degreaser spray and brush, heavy rinse, Auto Finesse avalanche snow Foam and brush all tight areas e.g around the lights and side indicators, rinse, 2 bucket wash with Auto Glym shampoo, rinse, tar and glue spray each panel and wipe, rinse, quick dry, fine clay bar with water as lube, towel dry with Meguiars super drying towel, blow hair dry all water out of right areas (don’t tell the Mrs!!), leave overnight.

STAGE 3 - POLISH

Tape up all areas not wanted to be polished, panel wipe with Mr Pink panel wipe, Das Pro first stage polish Menzerna high compound (400), second stage polish Menzerna Menzerna super finish

No Marlon you’re not, it’s the little things that make the big difference.

Your car looks fantastic OP - how much do you charge?

Weirdly I’m actually thinking about doing it on weekends next year to earn bit of extra dosh, but I’m not properly setup to do it yet. Something like that would be a few hundred quid I think...a full time detailer would charge at least £750 I believe.

Don't think I could charge £750 for 2 days work and polished with a DA. Think my customers would run for the hills at that money..

Interesting, thanks for the info. Next on my list is a rotary machine, the Das Pro was my first and a starter to learn. When I’ve done a quick (very quick) search I seemed to be doing all the steps of a full time detailer, but added the hybrid coating stuff (which seems to bump the price up massively). Didn’t realise it was the type of machine polish that made all the difference.

And it was more like three days work. ;)

Shout if you need any advice......Am in Nuneaton /Warwickshire
Rotary will always out perform a DA by miles. When you get one get a scrap panel from a breakers and put some scratches on and practice away... Take special care of edges and swage lines.........

Great tip - thanks! :D

Really nice job. Well done. I would suggest the following for cleaning the inside of the windscreen which you, me and most everybody hates doing. (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stoner-Reach-Clean-Glass-Window-Windscreen-Wonder-Cleaning-Tool-For-Car-Home-/230792879098). You can get it cheaper on Amazon. It is so easy to use and turns and bends to all angles, so you don't have too. As you stripe your carpets, I am taking a chance that you won't mind the following (lots of people will think that I am a nutter). For the Purists I think that your wheel 'M' badges are the wrong way round and the centre Roundel should be facing the 'M' badge. :o Once again, really nice job.

You're the second person to comment on that and they have already been rectified. :D :D :D Thanks for the link. :)
