You have definately not been robbed but there is a better way of mapping engines than just changing the map for another one that somebody somewhere made for someones car. You dont just want more power, you want a better tuned engine. No point it being quicker if it starts to wear engine parts quicker than it should.Timdon said:Sorry it's all too technical for me , maybe I have been sold snake oil but the car is definitely quicker and more responsive . I did look at the Cobb v3 $900 and did some research and decided on quantum .Nictrix said:So what parameters are these?Timdon said:Rob sends my origanal map to quantum and the file writers send him the updated map too install using the perameters he sent them .
Do they adjust if an exhaust or air intake is changed? What else?
Surely without going on a rolling road all they can do is guess what to change as they do not know what needs changing.
For instance most bikes run rich straight from the factory. Mine now does not as the map has been adjusted to suit.
The same can be done for bikes. You can download generic maps from Dynojets own site with various different maps set for various exhausts etc but these are just as far out as the standard factory map.
Every engine is different and to be at its best needs to be mapped properly.
