We got a Humax Frewiew HD Recorder and it's awesome. As stated by others, we just couldn't justify the cost of Sky + HD etc.
Absolutely agree with the compression on "HD" TV but it is better than regular TV. No comparison to a decent Blue ray though. HDMI for the win![]()
Saying that alot depends on the production etc, Dr Who's is excellent but compared to some of the Wildlife programs (Planet Earth springs to mind) the images are truly breath taking.

Just unsure I'll get the full benefit though as we've got a 42" plasma that's only 720p. Didn't bother with full HD tv at the time as had no intentions of going for a blu-ray, but that might change...
