Gearbox - Redline MTL 70w-80 GL4 (1.7 litres)

Differential - Castrol Syntrax LSD 75W 140 (1.2 litres)"

Never heard of Redline ?? Also , my indy was looking online and everything was pointing toward ATF ..?? I haven't checked with BMW yet but may have to.. they treat me well for some unknown reason, it could be because they like my Interlagos blue M (they don't see too many on Vancouver Island , either that or they think I will trade in my Porker for a new BMW, either way if they want to give me a discount I'll gladly take it :) )

Anything else I should know about ? ... I do live on an island in the Pacific and good car stuff is not that plentiful here.

If you haven’t heard of something then look it up.

If you don’t want to use aftermarket fluids then just use Genuine BMW fluids instead.

Si, pero porque la pregunta?

Pardon?? There is no question (nor a question mark at the end). Those products are "what' I used'. 'What I used' being the subordinate sentence. Sorry I omitted the start. :?

Having done the Diff oil in my Z4M with a LSD I looked on line and checked with the Indy that is local to me in Cleethorpes http://simonthorpebmw.com and I went along with his recommendations of use Castrol Syntrax Limited Slip 75W 140 Fluid mixed with RED LINE Limited-Slip Differential Friction Modifier, or use the genuine stuff (unless you want it to go bang he said)

The gearbox should have a label on it (yellow or orange) and there is two types of recommended oil for the gearbox depending on which label you have.

I agree. However i only noticed it once i had already purchased the oil, which according to it it was the wrong one. I still went ahead and used it. The gear change was much improved after that, so that could only mean what went in does a better job that what came out.

This is what I’m referring to:
