Gas prices

£1.16 per litre yesterday (for standard supermarket petrol). This is getting ridiculous

4.36 here for 91 Shell. Couple that with a thirsty ///M Car

It's interesting to note that the UK prices aren't rising as fast as in mainland Europe. In Jan 08 we had the 4th highest unleaded petrol price, but in May 08 we have 9th highest. Some countries have had a 20% rise since January.

One of the major downsides for me is that everyone is driving slower

Update... Just paid $4.219 gal for 91 octane Chevron. One week ago to the day I paid $3.999 gal at the same station.

Happily I am seeing anywhere from 28-33mpg on the freeway and 22-25 for daily commutes. Glad I went for the 3.0si instead of the ///M at this point.....

When I drove the brand new M5 from the dealer to the car show yesterday I purposely reset the mpg for the trip to and again on the return. On the trip to the car show I got 8.5 mpg...I drove with blind spirit. On the way back I was gentle as if it was my own gas and got 10.2 mpg. No wonder there is a $3000.00 gas guzzler tax on that V10.

Gas at my local station is now $4.199. Crickee...

We are still floating around $4.25 for premium. We have been using the Z4 more as it gets better mileage than the Honda Element, and the Civic just doesn't have the fun factor as the Z. Just can't believe the Z which is my weekend driver, is getting me great returns on mileage!

there's a shell and a chevron in prembroke pines that is offering gas at 4.38 a gallon.

the next day.... both went up to 4.45.


two days later... 4.36.

Gas here is about .85c a liter for high test .91octane
I drove across the united states this past summer and paid about 4.50 a gallon, now it is half that and the most expensive I paid was in big sur california at over 5$ a gallon, at the only stop there, nice place for a break mind you.

My luck it'll be like it was in Germany and we will have ration cards
