On the drive with ext bmw cover. Clean or QD before it goes on.

Cabrioshield for immediately after having driven (can't put full cover on hot car) or when out and about and having to park outside.

Would garage in between weekend drives if I had one though.
 
outside under trees in all weathers. i have a rental garage but it has the westy in it.

im with whoever it was who said its only a car.. i see loads kicking about. just wash it as often as i can and polish it as best i can and let be. none of this "tucking up in bed for the winter" malarkey as its only a Z4 and not even an M. anyway its my daily driver.
 
Mine just fits down the drive between 2 brick walls then in to the garage real tight one side. Its a bit hairy doing this everyday but worth it. We get this yellow pollen all summer which really messes up a soft top. I had a loud noise just the other night reversing into the garage. It turned out to be a tyre against the garage frame.

Car's were obviously a lot smaller in the 70's! Note the padding on the wall and I find comfort opening for the door helps a lot with getting in and out without looking too silly!

Mines exposed to all the elements nature can throw at it!! 8)

Let's face it tho living in Hertfordshire I'm pretty sure the Z4 was designed with a lot more extreme elements in mind like ALL modern cars. Over the the last 5 years I think I can just about remember 1 day when it was -22 here. It's been a long time since it's been anywhere over 36+ too.
I'm sure it'll be ok tho, I'm pretty sure they get tested and then owed by people living in a lot more extreme environments than Hertfordshire lol. It's not overly salty or humid here.

When I need to get in my Zed I walk from my front door, all of 9ft get in and drive off, and in reverse when I get home.

I bought my car to use all year round.
 
Always garaged and never used on wet days unless unavoidable (eg pre-planned short breaks to the Lakes etc.).

I doubt I would even buy a convertible unless I had a garage to keep it in.

karcher do one for their pressure washers. adjuustable height so it should fit under a zed
 
Oooo that sounds interesting.

I think at some stage I'm gonna get under my car with the grease/engine cleaner and just have a proper good clean of everything then let it all dry off and give it a good wax oyl or something.

Obviously muck is good for protecting components too so just cleaning and then leaving it exposed is probably not a good idea... especially just before winter and salty roads!

Looking good Ranski... does it really dig into the dirt/grime? Can you add a foam head to it and blast on some foamy stuff and leave it for a bit then rinse for example?

I might have to invest in something like that.

Then again, might just get a two post ramp haha :D

Yes it comes with a liquid container / attachment and solution especially for removing salt and grime deposits

I shouldn't put Waxoyl anywhere near the underside of Z4, I've stuffed classics full of the stuff over the years to keep tin work at bay but the Zed's steel is properly rust protected already. And Waxoyl will STINK for years, drip everywhere, will smoke off and can even catch fire if it's anywhere near the hot bits. Apart from that it's a good idea :)
