Garage only hoover - what you got?

Our house is still reasonably new and thus the garage is still unpainted and very dusty. Been sorting it out over the past few weeks and despite me brushing it out - it's still really dusty and ideally I want to paint it soon also

Thinking about getting this to live in the garage and be used for garage floor, cars, out door purposes etc.

Anyone tried it or have anything else around the same price for the same purpose??

Cheers!

I bought that one a few months back after a scrote popped the window on our XC90 on the driveway, to get all the glass from the door bottom...

Within 5 mins of unboxing, it was on it's way back to Screwfix - Too light and tipped over when you looked at it, or pulled on the hose..

Got this one instead http://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttb351vac-1400w-20ltr-wet-dry-vacuum-cleaner-240v/56239 which has been fine..

I don't think that anything really beats a Henry vacuum. They last for years and pretty much vacuum up anything. Plus they have a cheerful face! :D

I've had an Earlex wet and dry for years, can be a bit light but worked well enough. Don't think they're available any longer.

thanks for the feedback - useful indeed. So essentially they are the same unit, just this one is slightly larger in terms of the collection unit which made it less prone to topping over?

Henry is too much investment for the usage its going to get.
Titan is looking the best value alongside a Karcher WD2

Gotta think long term. A Henry is for life, not just for Christmas. They will outlive us all and one day rule the planet with thier insane suction. :D

plus, keep an eye out for the retail version at Homebase. They are often on offer.

Regarding painting the floor, I can highly recommend this; http://www.screwfix.com/p/leyland-trade-heavy-duty-floor-paint-slate-5ltr/49596

Did my garage in it over 9 years ago, two coats. It's seen some abuse and is approaching needing a repaint, but none of it has flaked or lifted.

The 5L did the double garage floor twice with some over.

Regarding the Henry - They use bags, and the genuine ones aren't cheap. Also depends on what you plan on picking up with it. Mine gets used for all kinds of cr@p, when I used it for broken glass, I think Henry may have split his bag at the seams! Also, the wet & dry ones have a wider bore hose than old Henry!

I got a nilfisk aero 21. The base model of their 'professional' line (but its not that expensive).
I use it professionally for dustremoval when I'm sawing and sanding graphite (that dust is obviously conductive and very fine, so I always use a bag). It still holds. The previous one (no-name brand) I had went out with a bang
I also use it as dustcollector for my sandblasting cabinet.
It does wet and dry, so you can also use it as a detailing 'extractor'

Numatics are also good.

true - but low use means i perhaps do not need to invest as much. plus the basic henry is dry only...

might just buy one from costco and take it back when im done :poke:

+1 on this. Got it in green and lasts for years.
Without painting or sealing the floor you'll for ever be fighting dust and never really have it clean

I have something similar to this, it was in the attic of our house when we bought it and works well in the garage cleaning duties. Just empty the cloth bag and carry on.

Thanks! I think i will do it in stages as i have too much stuff to cart out - especially in the winter months. Any reservations on this approach? Also PVA 1st and then the Leyland stuff over the top?
