G29 - Should the roof work from the Key Fob

Just taken delivery of a 2023 M20i with Tech and Comfort Pack, and tried opening the roof with the key fob. But it does not fold down using the fob.

Is there an option in the extensive menu system that activates this function ?
 
Just tried mine, worked OK. Assume you are using the correct procedure?
Unlock on the key fob, release button, then press and hold the unlock button.
After completion the windows don't go back up.
Roof can only be closed from the buttons in the car
To my knowledge it doesn't need setting up in the menu

Roof should also close on the key too. Both mine have.
 
Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs!

Thanks Andy, I could have sworn the salesman said the roof worked the same as the E89.
Only had it 16 months, never thought to try it :rolleyes:

Just seen this posted. My roof can be opened and closed as per your instructions. Only for roof to close I held the lock button. 👍
 
It’s not a great feature as you have to be right next to the car to use it. Used it so rarely. Mainly when someone has parked too close to me.

agree, you look like a bit of a wally standing there in the car park waiting for the roof to go down while next to the car... its shouts 'ooh, look at me!' Mine goes up and down on the key fob also, but I very rarely use it

May look a bit of a wally, but that's no big deal.

My inner 7 year old, who I really bought the car for, loves watching the roof go down from outside.
 
I have Comfort, Visibility, Tech Pack so it should operate by key?

Maybe worth checking on Bimmercode?

Yes it should. So, be right next to the car and press and hold the unlock button.
I personally wouldn’t worry about it as it’s not a feature that impresses me. ;)

My only query is would it be the same in the manual car? I see no reason why it wouldn’t, but SAR can answer that.
