Sadly BMW could have saved us all this debate - my E46 has neither, just an aerial in the rear screen - so much classier! Why was so much of the Z4 spec so billy-basic FFS? :x

Was looking at stubbys on ebay. Theres a genuine bmw stubby. Would reception be better with that than the Peugeot one? Also does it matter that i have DAB?

not sure re the dab reception but the external aerial is actually the secondary aerial with the primary being located in the boot.
i bought a cheap 5 euro superstubby from ebay and reception, at least here in holland, is tiptop.

All these stubby owners will realise that the stubby is the sporn of the devil, then the whippy will become a sought after/valuable item. Welcome back to the whippy club
