I'd have one in a heartbeart if they weren't £500 on tax and £££ service+ parts, plus I rarely get above 30 mph in Manchester anyway.

Well if he ain't breaking the car and he's getting rid of that bonnet, that says it all really, especially when he's a body repair guy. It would probably be easy to repair but I reckon it would be left with inconsistencies in the contour, i.e. you would probably notice wavy lines in the light reflecting on the bonnet where the repair has been done.
