First night of frost, Z4 frozen shut this morning, any easy advice to cure. Garaging not possible. Other than going back to bed and waiting for it to defrost or go to work in my wifes car.

When you get up, don't empty your bladder until after you get to the car...

Gummi works well for the door seals/boot etc. However my windows usually freeze and don't drop into the door and gummi won't work here because its the furry door weather seal that the window drops into that freezes to the glass. I usually have to run some warm (not hot) water along the seal, which will get the window to drop, but probably make it worse for the next day. Anyone successfully worked around the window drop freezing?

When I had my old E36 coupe which was parked on the drive, I found that a very light smear of vaseline along the top seal prevented freezing and allowed the window to drop and the door to open (IIRC I reapplied about once a week)

My problem is not any top seals as well there aren't any. The glass presses against the door seal top/sides and this doesn't freeze as I've put gummi on the rubbers. BUT the lower weather seal, the one that runs along the top of the door, freezes against the glass and it won't drop when opening. I can't put product on this seal as the window runs through it and will gunk/smear up the glass. Its warm water, a credit card (or my nectar card on the keyring).. or perhaps some rainX but the weathers too crap to apply that presently.

Sorry, missed that in your post -

I used to get this on my E89. I have used the wife's hairdrier before! I almost had to leave it in a health club car park once! I was working there for 3 hours and when I came out it was frozen shut!! Only a minor one but it was one of the reasons I decided I needed a change of car.

Another one for Yummy Gummi :D
Also, to prevent your glass from frosting over,

That Gtechniq G1 looks great stuff!-anyone tried it?-do you have to keep reapplying it?

Gtechniq claim between 20,000 and 30,000 miles per application, been considering some for myself. All the gtechniq products get good reviews on detailing world
