Front end respray or not?

Sounds like you have a good business oportunity spraying all the bumpers/bonnets for the forum members!

Ha ha - could be, but I do all the stuff on cars because I enjoy it, not as a business.

If it were a business I'd be doing all sorts from AE conversions to painting, to fitting bits, but sadly would lose the interest for me.
 
Excellent, in that case I won't have to pay you to sort the front bumper of the Polo out as the pre-delivery preparation seems to have consisted of a "blow over" job which is now nicely peeling away :x

When are you next in Brighton? :lol:

Stopped my Ryan Air delight when I started going to Russia, so my weekly meetings there have been put on ice since then. Missing the Hilton points, not missing the 6 am flight.
 
I had the bonnet,front and wing tops re sprayed in the summer £650 .i would be wary of a low price quote.
 
I've just had mine back from trainer BMW. Front end blended into the doors, mopped all over it looks fantastic.

£480 all in.

Contact Gillian in the body shop and get it done
 
Good thread. Thinking of doing the same with mine next year. Would be interested to hear the price if you do get it done. I was thinking around £500....

This thread is still tempting me.... ok ok I give in! :evil:

Maxman - can a sprayer blend the wing tops where they meet the front lights? The reason for asking is because this is a soft edge rather then hard edge? hope that makes sense!
 
Being devils advocate - another tactic would be to get it machine polished and dawb the hell out of it with fillers and wax.

Also because you've got a dark car you can make it shine like buggery which takes the eye off any defects.

For me its £600 down the drain. You're not adding any value and I really cant see a buyer being put off unless it was REALLY bad.

Would work if your planning to sell it straight after so really only a tempory solution and what a shed load of garages do... but the only long term option is a respray, hence this is the route i proceeded with money well spent

The paint match on mine is spot on?,so the answer must be yes.

A front end coverd in stone chips will be hard to sell on unless the value is reduced.
I could not let my conscience sell a car with a bodged paintwork.
 
If your keeping or selling it for £500 it's a no brainer. Mine now looks like new, if I put it up for sale then the first person to see it would buy it. For me it was the amount of rash since it was born lol..

Get it sorted :-).
