From the wife for Christmas ...

In my stocking this morning, among books, marrons glacés and Turkish delight, was a note from the wife: 'And a set of new tyres for the 35iS'.

She's a generous woman, which means I can have any I want. So, the question is, what's the best?

I’d say non-runflats were the best Buster, inflated to “reasonable” pressures of course

I’d suggest you try Russian, Swedish, Lebanese & Brazilian women... or did you mean Michelin Cup tyres

Had 'em all. None as good as the wife.

Never even heard of Michelin Cups, though. Are they the best?

Definitely go for non runflats, many say the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 are good, I have Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetrics and they are pretty good too.

Pilot sport cup 2’s is its a weekend toy for nice weather, alternatively pilot sport 4S - assuming you have 19”+ wheels

I got a full set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5s and they’re a great non-run-flat tyre. Scored well in tests and I’m pretty sure they saved my life when I hit a massive flood in the dark at high speed the other week. Sailed straight across the water instead of spinning out. Not sure my previous set of tyres would have handled it as well.

Could not be happier with new Michelin pilot sport 4s on my Z4. Make the car corner like it's on rails and smooth out the ride.

Are those 18s?

The base model 3.0i came with 17s. Not wanting to give up any cushion I stayed with the stock 17" size

Thank you. I was just double-checking that the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S isn't available in 18" in the UK.
