Slightly off topic, but I have to say Mr Exdos, having fettled with the OEM silencers in a similar way to you, they sound pretty good :) Lots of new burbles and pops and a bit more raucous, but retaining the overall OEM look and sound.

I had a rummage around my intake system today and found this.... is the air box used on another car that might use this opening?

Also noticed from the parts diagram that my car is missing the little scoop that sits next to the radiator and points upwards... is this necessary, should I go and replace it?

Wattsie

i would think that you need to replace it as this funnels the air towards the air box,the area behind the grill works on high air pressure

why is this such a secret? do you want to sell the idea or something?

Do you think others should have an automatic right to someone else's knowledge? The title of this thread states: "FREE" so how am I selling this???? :poke:

no i don't, but if you make a thread about oem intake modifications that gain power people are going to ask questions. just wondering, no need for the attitude. anyways, enjoy your intake

In my first posting in this thread, I thought I spelled out the the situation quite clearly and I also wrote:
"When the volunteers have had the opportunity to test the mod, I will then disclose the full details of the mod on the forum for all and sundry to see and discuss. " Did you read that before making your previous posting?

No attitude on my part.

Thanks to all the 24 members who've said that you'd like to test the mod. I've now sent you an email with the details.

i.e. lets not discuss the details, and leave that to exdos!

Don't know how I missed this.

Does it involve irreparable changes to OEM parts, e.g. cutting bits off or drilling holes?
