The Z4 has been out of hibernation since mid April. It's been a bit of a slow start of the season for me this year. However, I have attended some BMW Club Schweden events and a local Cars & Coffee. Both very nice.
In early July, I will once again have the Z4 on display at Halmstad Sports Car Event. I'm looking forward to that event.
I recently went for a drive on some of my favorite back roads in the area. I ended up (once again) at Fjärås Bräcka and took some photos. This time from the top of the hill with view over lake Lygnen.

Some moody looking sky this evening!
Tomorrow I need to wash the car in preparation for Halmstad Sports Car Event next weekend.
Not that it is that dirty, but it needs to look its best for the car show.

I thought I would test the image upload function with the new forum.
It seems we now can upload images that are up to 2500 pixels wide (1200 pixels wide was maximum previously). It should be a nice improvement in image quality on modern high resolution displays.
These photos are from the end of May with lake Lygnen as backdrop. Here I selected 2040 pixels wide, since that seems to be the current width of the post's content frame.

Halmstad Sports Car Event was held last weekend. I had my Z4 on display for the third time. Unfortunately, this year the weather was really bad with lots of rain and wind. As a result, only about half the number of cars usually on display showed up.
Even with the rain, I enjoyed the event.

Another year, another 5000 km driven. The Z4 has now passed 110 tkm before hibernation in October.
Plans for next season includes an oil service in spring and a bit of suspension work.
I have noticed that the rear bump stops have started to disintegrate. While anyway having it apart, I will change the original M-Sport shocks and top mounts as well.
I did a lot of research on what shocks to use with the M-Sport suspension. I want the car to be compliant for road use and I don’t really want it any lower or stiffer.
I ended up buying Bilstein B4. I hope those shocks work well with the M-Sport springs. I think B8 or B12-kit would be too stiff. I will change the rears when the car is back on the road in springtime. If I’m happy with them, I will probably refresh the fronts as well later in the season.
I also bought ATE brake disks and ATE Ceramic brake pads. I will see if I install them next season or not. There are still some life left on (what I think are) the original brake disks and pads.

I haven’t got around installing the parts I bought last year yet. The current brakes are still fine.
Regarding the dampers, I’m hesitating on the choice for B4. The more I read, the more unsure I get. I probably should have gone for some dampers with the proper length for M-sport springs? We’ll see what I decide.

Early spring together with the daily. The V70 has been in the family since new. They are two very different cars to drive. I think the contrast between them makes me enjoy the Z4 even more when I take it for a drive.
Last autumn and early this season I had a code (2E84) for the water pump in the fault memory at two occasions. I took it as a sign that it’s time to replace the original water pump after over 110k km. I had the work done (water pump and thermostat) by a workshop in the spring at the same time as the regular oil change.

As usual I have been participating in a number of local BMW Club Sweden activities.

Some photos from a warm late-summers evening. I’m struggling with finding new photo spots in my surrounding area. It feels like “I have that photo already”. But maybe that is natural after having owned the Z4 for 8 years now. I still adore the design of the coupé, inside and out.

I do enjoy it. For the last few years it has been the same events, mostly the same roads and places. It's not bad at all, but I should try to find something new to experience with the car. Maybe take it on a longer trip next year.
Anyway, I have hopefully some nice autumn weekends to look forward to before it's time for hibernation.
