Hello Friends.
62,000 miles
2007 3.0si Sport Automatic
3 keys and all paperwork
Brushed aluminium dash trim
M-Sport pack.

I've enjoyed and looked after this car for round 6 years now and it's time to part with it.
It's been a joy to own and utterly reliable, with the only major expense a few months ago replacing the aircon compressor for a new unit.
Low mileage 62,000. I have a couple of other daily drivers, hence it was mainly used at weekends.
I have kept this car original and unmolested.
The only addition I did was do add the original Hifi speakers behind the drivers seat and separate power amp to drive them, no modifications to the car were required as these were original Z4 speakers and grilles.
I refurbed the wheels at Lepsons when I first bought the car, so you may wish to get these done gain, but they're not in a bad way.
You're welcome to view and coffee. This car comes from a good home if I may say so myself.
£9,500 I think is fair for the condition and rarity.
I have just removed my cherished plate. The car is 2007.
Thanks.
Costa.

Nice one.
Silver top or black top engine?
Whereabouts is the car based?

Thanks. It’s Black top engine. Didn’t know there was a difference, I guess just the colour?

Based in North London, Barnet. ULEZ compliant 😀

There were actually quite extensive changes, documented on this forum somewhere. The black top engine is designated N52K. Some people prefer the black top, because is an evolution of the silver top. I haven’t heard anyone express a preference for the silver top engine. Power outputs are the same.

The silver top has the tappity tap issue, which the black one doesn't

Thanks.

Sorry to hijack this thread, I'm going to view a silver topped 3.0 manual tomorrow. Would it be a concern and is there anything specific to look for when viewing?

Cheers.

If the engine is stone cold, listen for tappets noise. If it is warm when you get there, be careful as they could have done that to hide the cold noise

Then again it doesn't seem to do any harm, and soon stops once the engine is warm and has been driven a bit.

I'm on my 3rd N52 engine (in my 3 Series) and it tends to happen when it has been sat for a few days.

Back on topic this looks like a great example so GLWTS Costa.

Thanks both, and again sorry to hijack OP

Ask the seller to ensure the car is cold when you get there. I’d happily do this for any buyer.

Mr Tidy is correct, the N52 & N52K are both prone to lifter tick when cold, but I wouldn’t be concerned by that if it goes away once the car is properly warmed up.

I wouldn’t actively search out a black top over a silver top, I’ve had more than one of each and you can’t tell the difference with the bonnet closed.

Best of luck with the viewing

Good Morning friends.

Just to clarify, this is a 2007 3.0si coupe with BLACK engine cover and is not afflicted by tappet noises.
I think now best to discuss engine cover colours on an other thread to avoid confusion, and tainting my car.

I’m not sure whether to repost my advert.

Nothing posted has tainted your car, no reason to repost another thread.

Looks a great example, GLWTS
