Folding Top Covers For Sale !

I can see arguments for & against this, whilst I agree rules are rules this doesn't mean that they cant be challenged, Badger clearly stated his reasons for sale whilst at the same time was asking less than what he could have got from eBay in order to benefit another forum member.

Maybe full disclosure upfront would be fairer such as "I paid X price for these, but now I'm asking for Y price for these as their market value has significantly increased since I bought them"?

What next, "those who no longer own a Zed are restricted to a read only status", not an unreasonable request give that the forum is about a specific model of car, in which case I'm sure there'd be quite a few of us that wouldn't be allowed to participate.

Just my tuppence worth.

What you paid for them in an historic market is irrelevant as that situation no longer obtains. Had you stockpiled a few sets and were now driving up the price through your evil monopoly then I could understand people getting excited. That you're wiling to sell for 20% less than the current going rate despite freely admitting that money is short at the moment is a testament to your character.
Had I a car that they would fit then I would buy them at the full eBay price just to stick two fingers up at the people who are so quick to criticise you (most I suspect) without having even met you :-x

Posts on this forum get ridiculously off topic and turn into a slagging.

Badger man... If you had posted an eBay link to these on here the same guys would be making the same points.
 
Can of worms indeed!

Nobody seems to care when Intravee II and Alpine boxes are offered at £200 or more on here!

I can tell you I have bought 2 Alpine units off Ebay for for under £35 delivered easily and if you deduct that from £200 you get £165 which is more than a brand new Intravee.

If I was to sell my latest Intravee and Alpine purchase for more than £186 I would be in profit. I am sure this combination has been sold on here for more money on more than one occasion without anyone calling in this rule. :fuelfire:
 
But you didn't buy them in a forum group buy, how are people struggling to grasp this?
If you've been lucky enough to get a good deal because of the community it's a bit of a s**t to then bend the same one over for the same item because the deals over/items out of production. (this applying to everything not these btw)
By all means sell it on for a profit elsewhere if you can but if you're going try sell it on the forums it's kind of in the spirit of things to stick with the ethos in which you obtained it.
The entire point of having a community based on certain cars/makes etc with sections like this is to get hold of things without having to go through a breaker or a dealer looking to profit.

Otherwise why would anyone bother their arse to do someone a favour?
 
I'm not sure anyone is slagging anyone off - certainly not me. I don't need these, I have some (and yes they are grey sprayed black...), and I know how much I paid for them. Which was the same as the previous owner - a forum member - paid for them originally. I was expressing a personal opinion, and I was very clear about that. If I ever decide to sell mine they will go for the £60 I paid. If I sell my car and move to another marque then they will probably go with the car, just like a bunch of stuff that I included in the sale of my last Z. These are my choices though, others would choose differently of course.

If I've upset the OP, or anyone else, then I apologise - I didn't think I was being rude. However I stand by my opinion, which I am entitled to hold... But which I will refrain from expressing again on this thread.

Yes they were I have only used them once and with a £700 mot/ service/ repair bill for the Z last week I need to find some cash - I saw that some had been sold on e- bay for £165 so thought £130 seemed reasonable I know they are quite rare and although they cost me less than that I need the dosh ! I'm happy to sell them on to a forum member for circa £100 - to be honest they look great on the car but I need the dosh !

I will put them on e- bay if no one on here is interested -
