Fog light for France

Have any Brits out there moved with their UK RHD Z4 to France or elsewhere in Europe? My 2006 Z4M Roadster has failed it's Controle Technique (French MOT equivalent) due to the rear fog light being on the wrong side. It's a bit annoying as it wasn't an issue when I imported the car two years ago and had a CT. I see ex UK RHD Z4's here in France for sale periodically, so I'm hoping there is a fairly straightforward solution. Any help much appreciated and thanks for reading

Buy a rear fog light for a LHD drive car and get it coded…

Surely there must be a BMW specialist near you who can do this for you?

I moved to Germany for a few years with my 3.0 - same issue and also xenons dipped the “wrong” way. The headlights were a simple swap out with some second hand ones from a LHD car, but the fog lights required a bit more creativity.

Both left and right tail lights are equipped with a fog bulb - they’re used as part of the adaptive break force display. Rather than dicking around with any coding to activate both (or just the correct) fog light, I jerry rigged a piece of automotive lighting cable from the fog light pins in the junction box connecting to the right tail light, routed it behind the interior boot trim (behind the safety triangle) to the left hand side, and connected it to the pins for the left hand bulb.

Then, when activated, the fog lights on both sides illuminated, thereby passing the TUV (German MOT). Unfortunately I can’t remember which pins it was now, but remember it wasn’t difficult to identify them using a voltmeter on the right hand connector and then hoping it was the same on the left hand connector (it was).
