I moved to Germany for a few years with my 3.0 - same issue and also xenons dipped the “wrong” way. The headlights were a simple swap out with some second hand ones from a LHD car, but the fog lights required a bit more creativity.
Both left and right tail lights are equipped with a fog bulb - they’re used as part of the adaptive break force display. Rather than dicking around with any coding to activate both (or just the correct) fog light, I jerry rigged a piece of automotive lighting cable from the fog light pins in the junction box connecting to the right tail light, routed it behind the interior boot trim (behind the safety triangle) to the left hand side, and connected it to the pins for the left hand bulb.
Then, when activated, the fog lights on both sides illuminated, thereby passing the TUV (German MOT). Unfortunately I can’t remember which pins it was now, but remember it wasn’t difficult to identify them using a voltmeter on the right hand connector and then hoping it was the same on the left hand connector (it was).
